The Maryland Hiking Heroes Chapter focuses on helping the local environment and community through many ways, extending beyond simply just hiking and picking up trash. We are a group that works to support the local community as well as the environment. We hike at multiple different locations, picking up trash on the way. We volunteer at different organizations, including Humane Societies and local environmental groups. We work to create crafts that support the local ecosystems, and we clean up at high schools as well. We share information about Hiking Heroes at environmental events, and we learn how to further accomplish our goals from similar organizations. The Maryland Hiking Heroes Chapter aspires to support and help the local environment and also the community.
